Writing Retreats
at Lake Tahoe
Creativity. Self-expression. Community. Relaxation. Joy.
Twice a year, I host writing retreats at Lake Tahoe, on the land of the Washoe people. Each retreat is a magical combination of creativity, self-expression, community building, relaxation, and joy.
These retreats are for writers and the writing-curious—people who want space to hear themselves again, create alongside others, and come home with real pages (and a fuller heart).
What We’ll do together
At all retreats, participants are invited to:
Learn and experiment with writing prompts and narrative structures
This is a space for creativity and connection—without pressure to perform or produce something “perfect.”
Draft new story sections and move projects forward
Share work in a supportive, nourishing space
Gather for communal dinners and meaningful conversation
Enjoy daily walks, hikes and swimming in the lake
Rest, read, and relax
Spring & Fall writing Retreats
The Fall Retreat
For writers working on a larger piece—a memoir, family history, or some combination of those.
We’ll explore different narrative structures, brainstorm possibilities, draft new sections, and share our work with other writers. At communal dinners, we’ll talk through questions, worries, and dreams.
If you’re holding a big story and ready to give it time, structure, and care, this retreat is for you.
The spring Retreat
For beginning writers and the writing-curious.
This retreat is an invitation to get started, to write the hard stuff, and to use writing as a way to explore your inner world.
If you’ve been feeling the pull to write—but don’t know where to begin (or keep stopping right when it gets tender)—this is a gentle, supportive place to start.
the Place
Lake Tahoe is part of what makes these retreats so special.
The water, the light, and the mountains help us soften, slow down, and listen more deeply.
