Write Through It
Write Through It: Expressive Writing to Work Through Grief, Loss and Emotional Challenges is a week-long workshop (one hour per day for four days) where we will address difficult experiences, hard emotions, and unresolved issues caused by grief, trauma or other really challenging experiences. This is based on the research and writing of James W. Pennebaker, Ph.D. His numerous studies on the effectiveness of the “expressive writing” technique establish that the technique helps people understand, process and deal with emotional upheavals in their lives.

Prepare emotionally:
Many people report that writing in this way brings up difficult feelings, like sadness, although this typically goes away in a couple of hours. If the writing ever becomes too difficult or overwhelming, it’s recommended that you stop writing or change topics to something less emotionally challenging.
